- I offer this personal service to help my clients bring their ideas to life. It works for a dinner party, a special birthday event, an annual rug and bedding refresh and all the in-between. The best way to begin is to give Suzanne a call at [541-241-2216], or email her here.
What to expect from a ‘Home Edit’
For example, one of my clients invited me into her home for one day of editing. This was her approach, “I am having a special birthday event this weekend and would love for you to ‘‘fluff’ up my home. Five of my friends will be here and I want my home to have that special touch in each room.”
The goal of this edit: For each guest to feel at home with an elevated level of comfort and fun and the host to feel confident in throwing a unique weekend for close friends.
I arrived in the morning and took a survey of each room and we brainstormed a list of unique items and arrangements to make this event shine. It was important to my client to include accents that encourage comfort, relaxation and pampering. Throughout the day we added varying sizes of fresh flower arrangements in each room, ceramic vases, soft towels, scented candles, soaps, comforters, pillows, bedding, table settings and created spa gift sets for guests. We also reorganized shelving in the kitchen and bathrooms to display thoughtful books, ceramic pieces, and herbs. The books were chosen based on friendship, and food. What’s not to love? By the end of the day, we were finished and the client loved it. I heard from her the following week about the levels of fun and comfort her guests felt. They had a blast.
Ideas
- You host a spring event with friends and want that extra level of inspiration in the home. For example, we design a table scape with spring gift boxes on top of each place setting.
- Every-time you are in your kitchen, you look up and have no idea what to do with the space above the cabinets. Let’s incorporate that space into the home design and create a beautiful cabinet scape. Open kitchen shelving can sparkle with a combination of books, ceramics and a candle. This is a space that is viewed by all guests and can be styled simply.
- Use books as a way to accentuate design. Stack photography, art and recipe books as centerpieces throughout the home on tables and floors.
- Highlight each room in the home with pottery or other special collection you may have. Guests will view the entire collection as they visit each room.
